Amelia Bruss

Amelia is the Soil Conservationist at Carolina Farm Stewardship Association (CFSA), where she provides technical assistance to farmers on conservation planning, soil health, and organic production, transition, and certification. She also serves as a local produce safety coordinator, assisting growers and food hubs with food safety planning and achieving Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) certification.

Raised on a diversified family farm in central New York, Amelia developed an early appreciation for agriculture while helping grow vegetables and care for livestock, including sheep, dairy cows, chickens, and pigs. She earned a bachelor's degree in Sustainable Farming Systems from Green Mountain College in Vermont and has spent her career supporting sustainable agriculture through both farming and conservation work.

Before joining CFSA, Amelia worked on and managed diversified farms throughout New England and served with the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) in Vermont and Massachusetts, helping farmers implement conservation practices, improve production systems, and build healthier soils.

Amelia relocated to Wilmington, North Carolina, in 2022 to be closer to family. Outside of work, she enjoys gardening, surfing, cooking, horseback riding, and exploring the outdoors with her dog, Frankie.
